: a mild virus disease of young pigs that is marked by fever, loss of appetite, relative indifference to normal stimuli, and skin lesions suggestive of those of smallpox and that is caused by a poxvirus (species Swinepox virus of the genus Suipoxvirus) transmitted by the hog louse
